Guided Backpacking Trips
in Raleigh & Durham NC
Hike-in and camp locally in the Triangle
Did you know there are more than 100 miles of contiguous trails around Durham and Raleigh NC? This trailway is part of the NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail that traverses nearly 1,200 miles from The Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks. In our neck of the woods, there are hike-in campsites and campgrounds scattered along the trailway, making an excellent route with easy terrain for backpacking. Small World Backpackers aims to make these trails accessible to new backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts by offering weekend backpacking trips that include backpacking equipment, meals, shuttle, and an experienced guide.
We hope to see you out there!
What do we mean by Backpacking?
Not an economy trip to Europe to stay in hostels and travel from city to city (though that does sound fun!) but an overnight hiking adventure into the woods carrying all of your food, personal items, and camping equipment.
Why hike with Small World?
Have you ever wanted to delve into backpacking but weren't sure where to start? Is the equipment and preparation required intimidating? Would you prefer to get started on relatively easy terrain with someone who has done this before? Small World covers all of these bases.
Perhaps you want to meetup with other local outdoor enthusiasts or get in shape for an upcoming trip. Maybe you just want to get out in nature and explore local trailways without a long drive to the mountains.
For all of these reasons and more a trip with Small World Backpackers is a great place to start. Whatever your reason, we are happy to have you along!
